Why same-day is often possible here
Our lot is at 13720 S Lowe Ave in Riverdale, and most of the places we serve are short drives away: Calumet Park about 2.6 road miles, Dolton 2.8, Phoenix 2.9, Dixmoor 3.7, Blue Island 4. Even South Deering, our longest trip, is about 9 miles by the Bishop Ford Freeway. Short distances leave room to fit a pickup into the same day.
We work 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., every day. Within those hours, whether a pickup happens today depends mostly on things you control.
What makes it work
- Call early. A morning call gives the day room. Late-evening calls are more likely to be scheduled for the next day.
- Describe the car honestly. Year, make, model, whether it runs or rolls, and what’s damaged or missing. A clear description means no back-and-forth.
- Sort the papers on the call. If you have the title, find it now. If not, tell us what you do have, and we’ll confirm whether Illinois rules let those papers work before we send a truck.
- Make the car reachable. Clear a path, move other cars if they block it, and arrange access to a lot, garage or shop.
- Be there. You sign and receive payment at the car, so the pickup happens when you’re available.
- Have your payment method ready. Cash, Zelle or Cash App. Choosing on the call saves a minute at the curb.
What pushes it to tomorrow
| Reason | Fix |
|---|---|
| Title missing and papers unclear | Gather registration, insurance or bill of sale and call |
| Car in a locked lot or garage | Get the key, code or manager’s OK first |
| Repair shop closed or holding the car | Settle the bill and confirm the shop’s hours |
| Car boxed in by other vehicles | Move them or tell us they’ll be there |
| Late call | Book the first slot the next morning |
| Heavy snow on a side street | Clear a path; see our snow guide |
When same-day matters most
Some situations really do need the car gone today:
- The car died on the street. In Phoenix, street parking is limited to 30 minutes between 2 and 5 a.m.; in Riverdale, cars without a village sticker can’t park on the street from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. See Phoenix.
- You have a notice. Calumet Park removes an inoperable car 7 days after its notice date. See Calumet Park, and our side-by-side of inoperable car notices.
- You’re moving out. Lot pickups need the manager’s OK; our page on apartment and repair-shop pickup covers it.
- A snow route. Most villages here ban parking on snow streets once snow passes 1 or 2 inches.

About timing
Ask for an estimate when you call. We don’t promise an exact time, because traffic on Halsted or the Bishop Ford, the weather and the pickup before yours all move things around.
While you wait
Use the time to run through our checklist for before the tow truck arrives: plates off, car emptied, transponder removed. Then read what happens when a junk car is picked up so the visit holds no surprises.
